With 50,000 acres of water Bull Shoals Lake has enough room for everyone. If you have your own boat, great! You can park right at our dock in your own free slip! We have 2 floating docks for a total of 14 slips with electric to each stall. There is also a fish cleaning station at our dock. If you don’t have your own boat or personal watercraft, you can rent one from us or the nearby marina!
Boats available for rental
All cottage rentals receive one free boatslip. We have 4 Pontoon boats available for rent if your fishing party is larger or you just want to cruise around the lake in shaded comfort.
Pontoon boat rental rates do not include gas and oil. Please call for weekly rates.
Fishing is excellent on Bull Shoals
Fishing is excellent all year with peak action in March, April, and May. The lake’s clear water holds Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Kentucky Spotted Bass, Crappie, Walleye, White and Striped Bass, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Bluegill and Catfish.
In addition to the lake, trout fisherman will find moving waters not too far away. Both the White (feeds Bull Shoals Lake) and North Fork (feeds Lake Norfork) Rivers offer excellent trout fishing. A 1988 world record brown was caught on the North Fork River weighing in at 38 pounds, 9 ounces!
A unique feature of this area is a YEAR-ROUND TROUT SEASON. Trout Fisherman can enjoy fishing all year long, escaping the closed season of their home states. With this benefit do come some added regulations. Some waters are designated strictly “catch and release” seasonally, such as the Bull Shoals State Park area, so be sure to check the current Arkansas Fishing Regulations Handbook.
You can obtain everything you need to get fishing right at our resort: licenses, trout stamps, regulations handbooks, ice, and bait. For your convenience you can find an online version of the Arkansas Fishing Regulations Handbook here. You may want to look it over so you can plan your trip and fishing areas accordingly.
Our fishing blog, The Fishin’ Hole, is also a resourceful tool to let you know what, where and when we’re catching and when we’re just fishing!
Fun on and in the water
During the summer months at Bull Shoals Lake, water sports are very popular. Swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, wake boarding, diving, and swimming are popular.
Bring your own wave runner, ski boat and skis or rent from one of the many marinas on the lake. The largest marina offering rentals is only a few miles ride across the lake. We can help you get in contact with them so you can have an enjoyable time on the water.
What is there to do away from the lake?
For whatever reasons you’d like to get away from the lake, there are many local attractions and restaurants to visit in the immediate area around Batty’s Resort.
